The Embassy of Uganda in Russia, in collaboration with the Uganda Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI) are showcasing the best Uganda in Moscow from May 27 to June 1.
Dubbed, Uganda Expo 2019, the purpose of the exhibition that kicked off today at the yota arena, is meant to promote trade, investment, tourism and enhance cultural exchange programs between Uganda and the Russian Federation.
“We have signed MoU’s with several chambers including Kursk, Yaraoslavl, Kostroma and Ivanovo,” said Olive Kigongo, President of UNCCI.
Adding that, “The Expo is a great platform and an opportunity for Uganda to seek partnerships and business opportunities as well as tell the world about her tourism and investment opportunities.”
Africa Tembelea has also learnt that the Expo which is being run in the form of a road show will on May 30, shift to the university of friendship of peoples and thereafter relocate to the ethnographic park of petrovo, Borovsky District, kaluga region (90 km from Moscow on the Kiev or minsk track) from May 31 to June 1.

Early this month, Ugandan Ambassador to Russia, H.E Ambassador Johnson Agara OLWA met Mr G.A Drozhzhin of the Russian Arts and Folks Crafts Association to seek their collaboration in hosting the Uganda EXPO 2019.
Mr. Drozhzhin was glad to collaborate with the Uganda Embassy in Moscow to organise the Expo that has attracted over 100 public and private sector players from Uganda including the Uganda Chamber of Commerce and Industry and ‘Ndere Troupe’, that performed at the opening of the expo.

Also invited was Mr. Viktor N. Grebennikov, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kursk Region in the Russian Federation among others.
