Uganda records 3 new COVID-19 deaths, 326 positive cases

Kampala, Uganda – The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced 326 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, tested from a sample of 4,106 on September 11.

The new cases, push the total number of cases reported in Uganda so far to 4,703 and the cumulative number of samples tested to 490,445.

Of the new cases 9 are returnees from India (5), Burkina Faso (1), Iraq (1), Italy (1) and Kenya (1), while the remaining 317 were from contacts and alerts in the districts of Kampala (94), Buikwe (93), Kitgum (29), Gulu (17), Moroto (19), Mbale (10), Amuru (9), Kapchorwa (8) and Pader (7).

Others include 5 cases from Nwoya, Bududa (5), Mukono (5), Wakiso (4), Jinja (2), Omoro (2), Sironko (3), Zombo (2), Arua (1), Namisindwa (1) and Tororo (1).

Africa Tembelea also understands that the total number of recoveries since the pandemic was first reported in the country is 1,998.

At the same time, the country has recorded 3 new COVID-19 deaths, pushing the total number of fatalities to 52.
