Kampala – The Senior Public Relations Officer at Uganda’s ministry of health, Emmanuel Ainebyoona has tested positive for coronavirus.
Ainebyoona, who confirmed the news in tweet, said he was receiving treatment at Mulago Hospital.
“Good evening all, I am currently receiving treatment at Mulago Hospital after testing COVID-19 positive,” Ainebyoona tweeted.

The news of Ainebyoona’s illness comes a few hours, after the ministry of health confirmed 122 new COVID-19 cases from tests done on October 22, 2020. The breakdown of the new cases from contacts and alerts are: Kampala (55), Wakiso (11), Mukono (10), Mbarara (7), Gulu (5), Tororo (5) and Luwero (4).
Others are from Manafwa (3), Kibuku (3), Mbale (3), Kyotera (2), Rubanda (2), Lira (2), Mubende (2), while Buikwe, Bunyangabu, Bushenyi, Kabale, Kayunga, Kumi, Lamwo and Ntungamo recorded (1) each.
To date, Uganda’s cumulative total stands at 11,163. Out of this number, 7,269 have since been discharged from different hospitals across the country after they recovered, while 99 have succumbed to the virus.
