Uganda, the Pearl of Africa has been given a leading role at unveiling of the Nickelodeon International’s Orange Carpet Special Edition during the 73rd United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) that was filmed in Uganda.
The event is being used to demonstrate Uganda’s national pride in Africa’s unique natural and tourism resources as well as the important role young people can play as active, engaged citizens. The campaign content was all gathered from Uganda in March of 2018 and will translate into the episode of the wildlife heroes Orange Carpet Special on-air series that will be distributed to approximately 170 countries on-air and online.
After being introduced to wildlife heroes in the Orange Carpet episodes, viewers will be directed to interactive content online. The objective is geared at leveraging Nickelodeon’s worldwide reach.
A Facebook live component allowing pre-recorded questions from youth around the world to listen in and participate, also includes Breanna (the Nickelodeon) who will present a call to action from the youth of the world who participated in the Wildlife Heroes Campaign to participating leaders.
The first event held at the Uganda Embassy in New on the evening of 24th September was attended by the president and officials from Africa Wildlife Foundation (AWF), the World Bank, parliamentary committee on foreign affairs, over 50 travel trade and media and was presided over by Amb. Santa M. Laker Kinyera the Deputy Chief of Mission.
