KAMPALA – The Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs Sam Kutesa, has today; Tuesday March 17th 2020, received copies of Letters of Credence for the Honorary Consul-designate of Nepal, H.E Dr Sudhir Ruparelia officially accrediting him as Representative of Nepal.
The ceremony took place at the Ministry Headquarters in Kampala.
Sudhir, Nepal’s designate honorary consul to Uganda was appointed to the position by Bidhya Devi Bhandari, the Nepalese president last month.
The Ugandan born billionaire expressed his pleasure at the new post and said that his tour of duty is aimed at strengthening economic and political ties between the two countries.
In attendance was His Excellency Ambassador Jhabindra Aryal Rajdoot, the Ambassador of Nepal to Egypt and Amb Patrick Mugoya, the Permanent Secretary at Uganda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The new Nepalese Consul, later opened the Nepal Consulate at his Crane Chambers in Kampala. The office will among others handle issues like visas and trade.
