A prominent investor and Chairman of Touchroad International Holdings Group of Shanghai in China, Mr. He Liehui has today arrived Dar es Salaam for a 4 days’ visit in Tanzania. While in Tanzania, He is expected to meet with various Government officials including Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB).
Mr. Liehui’s visit follows a road show that was organized in China by TTB in November 2018.
TTB signed an MoU with Touchroad International Holdings Group during the China visit, whose terms mainly focused on promoting Destination Tanzania in China and increasing the number of tourist arrivals from China to Tanzania. The company is expected to bring in more than 10,000 tourists to Tanzania by the end of this year.
Under the agreement the Shanghai-based company said they would fly in tourists using a special chartered plane.
The signing ceremony in China was graced by the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources from Tanzania, Dr Aloyce Nzuki, TTB and other government officers.
During the meeting, Air Tanzania Corporation Limited (ATCL) and about 200 Tanzania tourism stakeholders had a chance to showcase their tour packages tailor made for Chinese market.
China has cited eight African countries as suitable tourist destinations for the Chinese, among which are; Tanzania, Kenya, Seychelles, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Mauritius and Zambia.
