Kampala, Uganda – Residents in the slums of Nsooba Mulago and pupils at Good Samaritan Primary School have a reason to smile after they were handed an Eco- toilet from Ruparelia Foundation.
The UGX50m facility was built from proceeds of the Royal Ascot Goat Races 2019 that was held at Speke Resort Munyonyo in partnership with Tamarai Investments Ltd, and other sponsors that include; Tusker larger, Robbialac, Speke Resort Munyonyo, NTV Uganda, Sanyu FM and Goldstar Insurance Company.
While commissioning the facility Rajiv Ruparelia, Managing director of the Rupaleria group said he was optimistic the community, and more particularly the pupils at Good Samaritan Primary School will put the facility to good use.
The Eco Toilet project, a brainchild of Mujuzi Patrick from the Ghetto Research Lab, is in line with Ruparelia Foundations theme of “Enriching Lives Together.”

Ruparelia Foundation was Co-founded by Dr. Sudhir and Jyotsna Ruparelia in the year 2012. The Foundation focus areas include health care, education, sports, wildlife and environment conservation, disaster relief, startup and general welfare.
According to Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, the foundation works to create a positive and transformative change in the community.
“We look at making a real difference in the course of the present day but also have a sustainable plan for every initiative carried out,” he told Africa Tembelea.
