The newly appointed Presidential Advisor on Kampala Affairs Ms Catherine Kusasira has declined to meet Kampala NRM party leaders who had invited her and Mark Bugembe better known as Buchaman for an introduction meeting today, November 9.

Speaking to NTV Uganda on Saturday, Kusasira said that her position is superior to any of theirs and that if they wanted her, then they would formally write to her first.

“They have to write to me, my position is far above theirs. If they feel we need to talk they should do it officially so that I go and meet them, we find a way forward,” Kusasira said during the launch of an NRM youth group in Busabala.

Mr. Salim Uhuru, the Kampala NRM Chairperson is quoted recently to have said that he felt demotivated and heartbroken following President Yoweri Musveni’s appointment of faded singer Buchaman and Kusasira as Presidential envoy on ghetto affairs and Presidential Advisor on Kampala Affairs respectively.

He has however dared the new presidential appointees, to convene a meeting in Kampala central where some of the experiences and challenges the party goes through can be shared.

“I am the elected chairman for NRM in Kampala central and there is no doubt about that. If she [Kusasira] says she’s my boss then she should convene a meeting for NRM party in central and I’ll believe she’s my boss,” Mr. Uhuru is quoted to have told NTV in a phone interview.
