Ugandan President, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will on Monday July 8th 2019 host a state dinner in honour of the Uganda Cranes contingent that returns home tomorrow from the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt.
The function organised to congratulate the team for its great performance that saw Uganda Cranes make it to the knock out phase of the AFCON tournament for the first time since 1978 will be held at State House, Entebbe starting 4pm.
The Ugandan contingent leaves Cairo at 10.50pm EAST on Sunday night and will arrive Entebbe on Monday morning aboard Egypt Air.
Uganda Cranes fall 1-0 to Senegal during the round of 16 at the Cairo International Stadium on Friday night.
It was a brave showing by the Uganda Cranes who created a couple of chances by Bevis Mugabi, Emmanuel Okwi and several set pieces by Faruku Miya.
“There are lots of learning points from the AFCON 2019 finals. Uganda Cranes picked lots of positives from the teams in Egypt and the tournament itself. We shall continue to grow as a team from the experience gained,” said Head Coach Sebastien Desabre who has since parted ways with Uganda Cranes.
