American media mogul Oprah Winfrey has denied claims that she has been arrested.
This comes after rumours began circulating on social media claiming the celebrity Tv host and lifestyle mogul had been raided and arrested for alleged sex trafficking.
News of Oprah Winfrey’s arrest follows a viral post on Twitter, where convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein agreed to give testimony against the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Joe Biden, Tom Hanks, John Travolta and Steven Spielberg in exchange for a reduced sentence.
However, in a tweet seen by Africa Tembelea, the media mogul confirmed there was no raid at her place and urged her fans to relax as she was safe.
Oprah says she was shocked to learn that she was not only one of Twitter’s top trending topics Tuesday night, but also being trolled for some awful fake thing.
“Just got a phone call that my name is trending. And being trolled for some awful FAKE thing. It’s NOT TRUE. Haven’t been raided, or arrested,” Oprah tweeted late Tuesday.
“Just sanitizing and self-distancing with the rest of the world. Stay safe everybody,” she added.
