NRM Vice-Chairperson for Buganda Dr. Godfrey Kiwanda Ssubbi calls on Ugandans to forgive each other over any possible conflicts that rose out of the just concluded elections.

Kiwanda, who was speaking after mass at Lubaga Cathedral, said the most important thing in the post-election period was for all Ugandans to get together to develop the country.

“On behalf of the political team especially the National Resistance Movement-NRM, I would like to apologize for whatever may have taken place that was not befitting a statement during the just concluded elections,” Kiwanda said.

It should be remembered that Ministers Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja (Agriculture), Esther Mbayo (Presidency) and Godfrey Kiwanda (Tourism) blamed the Catholic Church and Buganda Kingdom for NRM’s poor performance at this year’s general elections.

“So we are very apologetic to the Catholic Church, we are very apologetic to every one,” Kiwanda said.

The NRM Vice Chair for Buganda’s apology comes afew weeks after Kampala Lord mayor Erias Lukwago, and many other Ugandans cautioned some ministers to stop spreading sectarian statements against the Catholic Church and Buganda Kingdom.
