Kampala, Uganda – President Yoweri Museveni has regretted an incident earlier today when his car knocked a he-goat as he drove to Jinja, and has promised to compensate the owner.
Speaking during a televised COVID-19 address to the nation, Mr. Museveni said that his car knocked the goat somewhere between Bweyogerere and Seeta before as he drove to Jinja to assess the extent of damage caused by a 16-acre moving island that partly blocked Nalubale Bridge and and on to the dam causing a power blackout.
The president said that he did not stop, to avoid gathering but as an abiding citizen who was mindful of the army doctrine, he promised to compensate the owner of the goat. He however, wondered what a business the goat was doing on a road which is meant for vehicles
Mr. Museveni asked the area DISO to get in touch with the Director General of the Internal Security Organisation (ISO), Col Kaka Bagyenda who will work with the State House Comptroller Lucy Nakyoobe to ensure that the owner is compensated.
