Kampala, Uganda – The president of the Democratic Party, Nobert Mao, is inviting submissions for a presidential campaign poster design contest.
Mao, who declared his intention to run for the position of president of Uganda in the 2021 general elections, said the design contest is for Ugandans below 30.
“Ugandans below 30 (UB30) this is for you. Get the creative juices flowing and be rewarded for it. Above all, be part of history in the making,” Mao said in the call for submissions advert, adding that submissions can be sent to [email protected] or via WhatsApp number 0700727704 by October 31, 2020.
He also disclosed that a select panel of judges from the Mao 2021 Campaign Committee will determine the winner who will be announced and unveiled at a special occasion.
According to Mao, the winner will walk away with a cash prize of UGX1,000,000; while the 1st and 2nd runner up will get UGX500,000 and 300,000 respectively.

Born on March 12, 1967, Mao attended Mwiri Primary School in Jinja and briefly went to Wairaka College in Jinja District before attending Namilyango College, a prestigious all-boys boarding high school in Mukono District from 1982 until 1988.
He then attended Makerere University between 1988 until 1991, graduating with a law degree. He served as the president of the Makerere University Students Guild between 1990 and 1991.
Mao went on to obtain a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Center in 1992. In 2003, Mao was admitted to Yale University, under the Yale World Fellows Program, where he spent one year at the New Haven, Connecticut campus.
He has been president of the Democratic Party since 2010, and has also previously served as the Local Council 5 chairman for Gulu District.
