Bumula parliamentarian Mwambu Mabonga has called out President Uhuru Kenyatta for keeping silent while his Deputy, President William Ruto faces scathing attacks and humiliations from left, right and centre.

In a video posted by the Standard, the lawmaker reminded the head of state of his political career more so in 2002 when Ruto stood by him in his presidential bid when everyone else threw shade at him.

“Even in 2013, when everyone else hurled insults at him for supporting you, he did not waiver. In the 2017 elections, this man being humiliated while you are silent still stood by you Mr. President,” Mabonga said.

He further redrew the biblical story of Mordecai to warn the commander-in-chief against ditching his deputy.

“In the bible, the King once had a dream telling him to look into his books of records since a man called Mordecai is about to be killed and yet he helped you be a king.”

So today, you are the King in this context and therefore I am urging you to look into your books of record and see how far you and Ruto were a formidable pair,” the MP said.

He called on the president to speak up against the humiliation the DP has been facing.

Ruto has been under constant humiliation especially from the Kieleweke faction of Jubilee and the ODM party members.

Recently while at the Bomas of Kenya, during the grand launch of Building Bridges Initiatives (BBI), eyebrows were raised after Ruto was degraded in a number of times.

He spoke as the third last speaker and before the ODM party leader Raila Odinga in the event and Tanga Tanga members did not sit right with this.

A viral video of Uhuru laughing after Suna East legislator Junet Mohammed made a mockery of Ruto’s ally Senator Kipchumba Murkomen whilst Ruto was beside him unamused also painted a picture of a tainted relationship between the two.
