Kampala, Uganda – Ivan Kakooza, the Managing Director and owner of Nexus Lounge Najjera, Wakiso District is dead.
Kakooza, in his early 40’s is said to have passed on Friday morning at Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala.
This website has not yet ascertained the cause of death, however in a post on twitter, Douglas Lwanga, one of Uganda’s most celebrated media personalities, says the Nexus proprietor had succumbed to Covid-19.
“SAD: The owner of Nexus Lounge in Najjera has died from COVID-19,” Lwanga tweeted.
“Guys this disease is real. Rest in peace Ivan,” he added.

According to Dr. Charles Olaro, the director of curative services at the ministry of Health, 9,442 persons have so far tested positive for Covid-19, with 85 having died in Uganda as of October 7.
Dr. Olaro confirmed this during a virtual media symposium on the COVID-19 pandemic in Uganda organized by the African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME).
