Kampala, Uganda – President Yoweri Museveni has joined Ugandans in mourning the Deputy Government Spokesperson retired Colonel Shaban Bantariza who passed away this morning at Mulago hospital.
In his eulogy, Museveni described him as a dedicated cadre who worked for Uganda’s liberation and development.
” I received the sad news of the death of Col. Shaban Bantariza, the Deputy Government Spokesperson. He was a dedicated cadre who worked for Uganda’s liberation and development. He was eloquent as he spoke for the UPDF and government,” Museveni eulogized.
Meanwhile, Africa Tembelea has since learnt that the fallen bush war hero will be laid to rest this Thursday October 29, at his ancestral home in Kagorogor village, Birereko sub county in Mitooma district.
Col. Bantariza who served twice as the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) spokesperson succumbed to Covid-19, Ofwono Opondo, the Government Spokesperson told journalists earlier today.
He revealed that the burial will take place at 11:00am under Covid-19 guidelines.
“Only family members and few friends (will be) permitted at the burial site. Unfortunately, there won’t be vigil in Kampala,” he added.
