BANK OF UGANDA LAUNCHES ‘MY MONEY’ PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

KAMPALA – Bank of Uganda (BoU) and the Deposit Protection Fund (DPF) have today October 22, launched ‘My Money’ public awareness campaign.

Supported by the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW, the campaign seeks to raise awareness about the Deposit Protection Fund (DPF), a body established to protect depositors’ funds held in the Supervised Financial Institutions.

According to BoU Deputy Governor Louis Kasekende, is focused at helping to increase usage of Credit Reference Services by both providers and consumers of credit as well as raise awareness about the World Savings Day.

“Uganda will join the rest of the world in marking the Saving Day, that runs under the theme “SAVE WITH A PLAN,” said Kasekende.

The public is invited to look out for, and actively participate in, the public engagements countrywide under this awareness campaign added Kasekende.

One such activity will be the commemoration of the World Savings Day on October 31, 2018, which will be held at the Constitutional Square, Kampala.
