Kenya Tourism Federation Chairman Mohammed Hersi joins the ARP Travel Group as Operations Director.
The ARP Travel Group includes brand names like Pollmans’ Tours and Safaris in Kenya and Ranger Safaris in Tanzania but also has hotel interests through the Baobab Beach Resort and Spa, Maridadi and Kole Kole besides also owning the Taita Hills and Salt Lick Lodges which are managed by Sarova Hotels on their behalf.
Mohammed can look back at an illustrious career over decades now, including his position as General Manager of the Whitesands Hotel before he moved on to become CEO to Heritage Hotels. More recently he also served as CEO of Sun Africa Hotels before the most recent appointment to the ARP Travel Group with their diverse portfolio of hotels, lodges and safari operations.
Mohammed is a graduate from Utalii and holds an MBA from the Regent Business School in Durban, South Africa. Prior to being elected as Kenya Tourism Federation (KTF) Chair, Mohammed served as Chair of the Mombasa and Coast Tourism Association which then became the Kenya Coast Tourist Association.
He has also served as national chairman of Skal Kenya and is a certified corporate governance trainer accredited by the Centre for Corporate Governance in Kenya.
The ARP Board of Directors has welcomed Mohammed Hersi to the group in his new capacity and is looking forward to see Mohammed Hersi help raise the company profile in the tourism industry of Eastern Africa through his wide network of contacts not just in Africa but across the globe.
