US – Uganda’s Idris Musuuza better known as Eddy Kenzo has won the Best African Entertainer award at the 5th edition of African Entertainment Awards USA 2019 (AEUSA).
The red carpet ceremony took place at Kupfrian Hall, Jim Wise Theater, New Jersey, USA on Saturday Night (Sunday morning East Africa Time).
Kenzo defeated Africa’s finest musicians like Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, Nigeria’s Davido, Shatta Wale, Wizkid, Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage who had been nominated in the same category with him.
Kenzo, who is on a tour in the US, posted on his facebook page, “Congratulations Uganda🇺🇬🇺🇬 we just won African entertainer of the year 2019 at African entertainment awards USA.🙏🙏🙏”
In his acceptance speech the sitya loss singer thanked his fans for standing by him in his career.
“I dedicate this award to all my fans, to all my people who know the struggle. My name is Eddie Kenzo a very strong boy, street kid and ghetto man but working hard to make a big impression. I dedicate this to all East African people, thank you so much for the support.
Among other awards that Kenzo has won before include a BET award, an AFRIMA Award and Nigeria Entertainment awards.
