Kampala, Uganda – The Ministry of Health on Sunday announced that 166 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing to 7,530 the total number of confirmed infections in the country.
In a statement, Uganda’s Health ministry said the new cases include a truck driver who came in via Elegu border, while 165 others were from contacts and alerts.
Of the contacts and alerts were 47 from Pader, Kampala (34), Koboko (22), Kole (12), Adjumani (16) and 7 from Wakiso. Others cases include 9 from Gulu, Kiryandongo (4), Lamwo (3), Yumbe (2), Amolatar (2), Hoima (2), Luwero (2) while Masindi, Amuru and Arua recorded one case each.
According to the ministry of health, a total of 3,647 patients have since been discharged from various hospitals across Uganda after they recovered. However, 2 more patients have succumbed to the disease, bringing the fatality to 73.
